Of Mice and Milk

Since the last devastating mid-summer storm, there has been an anxious atmosphere in Emmental, a picturesque mouse village hidden deep in the dense forest near the human settlement. The inhabitants of Emmental are known for their delicious cheese, made from fresh milk from the nearby human farm. But fate has played a bitter trick on them - the last storm severely damaged their milk cart, and their next haul is approaching. This milk run requires a special wagon that can safely transport the delicate cargo through the dangerous and uneven woods. But time is working against them, and the milk wagon is still not ready for use. The milk supplies from the last haul are rapidly dwindling, and without the continuation of their cheese production, the people of Emmental face an existential crisis. No cheese - no trade, no trade - no supplies for the winter.
